1. Is childcare available in Glocal Preschool?
Yes, childcare service is available here. Our childcare service include enrichment class for 4 main learning subjects (English, Bahasa Melayu, Mathematics and Chinese).
2. What are the Glocal Preschool’s teaching methods?
Fun and interactive teaching
Hands-on and age-appropriate activities
Group and individual activities
Multi-sensory activities to cater different learning styles (audio, visual and kin-esthetic learners)
Teacher works as a facilitator to guide and lead
3. What kind of activities does Glocal Preschool provide?
We provide integrated activities including sand play, sensory play, physical play, practical life skill, storytelling, dramatic play, cooking, water play etc. These activities help nurturing their physical, social, creativity, cognitive, language developments, as well as their character and discipline building.
4. How many children in a class? Is the teacher able to focus on all the children?
Low adult-child ratio, around 12 children in a class. Yes, the teacher is able to focus on all children as the class size is just spacious for the teacher to walk around and check on every child. Also, 12 children in a group just like a small society. Children learn to work in a group, develop the social skills as well as learn to manage their emotional skills with peers.
5. What if my child is easily distracted during the class?
There are a few things we can do (but not limited to) below:
We will arrange him/her to sit in front where it is near to the teacher;
Create more interaction/communication by asking questions to the child in class;
Will seek for parent’s cooperation in helping and guiding the child.
6. What is included in the enrichment class? Do children have a lot of activities to do?
A healthy lunch, one to one reading class and fun learning activities such as art and craft, games, flashcards etc. These activities enhance children’s progression in different subjects and physical development.
7. Does Glocal Preschool have exams at school?
No, we do not have exam system in Glocal Preschool. We do not want to give the children pressure through ranking competition. However, we still do assessments twice a year for all subjects. This will help us to identify each child’s strengths and weaknesses. Then, we can focus on improving the weakness.
8. Are your graduates able to catch up with Primary school syllabus after completing kindergarten?
Yes, Glocal Preschool has included Primary 1 enhancement lessons in the K2 (6 years old) program. The children will have sufficient basic knowledge on the Primary 1 syllabus.
9. How does Glocal Preschool prevent hand foot mouth (HFM) disease?
We will do health screening at least 2 times for half day program children. Before they enter the school, we will check their mouth and throat as well. If we find any suspected case, we will ask the parent to send their child home for further observation or consult a doctor for confirmation.
If there has been a confirmed HFM case in our preschool we will disinfect the school area and more importantly to inform other parents so they can be aware of the disease as well.
10. How will Glocal Preschool communicate with me about my child’s progression?
Parents will engage in the Parent-Teacher Meeting twice a year. In addition, teachers will communicate with parents regularly through phone calls, messages or face to face to inform each other about the child’s learning progression. We believe good cooperation between parents and teachers is an encouraging, good support that helps to motivate the children during their learning journey.
